Are you looking for charcoal that is sustainable whilst being restaurant quality too? Then this British Gourmet Lumpwood is the choice for you.
The British BBQ charcoal range is ethically crafted by us in our environmentally friendly emission retorts at the farm in Sussex using sustainable British woods. Our Gourmet grade is create only using dense hardwoods with qualities such as Beech & Oak. The density and larger size of the charcoal pieces (3-40cm) will ensure high temperatures for an extended period making it ideal for use in professional kitchens and home BBQs.
Chefs and Home Cooks use our Restaurant Grade Gourmet Charcoal due to its consistent high temperatures, which provide a long and controllable cooking environment, as required in professional kitchens.
Why we sell our British BBQ Charcoal by size not weight:
Like our firewood we sell our British charcoal by volume rather than weight. Although we use dense hardwoods to produce our British charcoal, by its nature its light in weight as the heavy water content in the wood has been driven off by the charcoaling process. Especially as we use really efficient & environmentally friendly charcoal retorts to produce the Lumpwood resulting in mostly pure charcoal.
The same volume of charcoal may be heavier in weight if it contains moisture, accelerants, binders or only partially burnt wood, none of which are desirable!
please note only 2 bags max per order
